Via METRO & BUS

metroWES is seven blocks from the Silver Spring Metro station. To walk, make a left onto Colesville Road as you exit the station; after two blocks make a left at the traffic circle onto 16th Street, and continue 5 blocks south to Kalmia Road.

metro busBus service is available from the Silver Spring station and from points downtown (most of them on 16th Street). The nearest bus stop is adjacent to WES, at the crossroads of 16th Street and Kalmia Road.

Via CAR

From Downtown DC:
Take 16th Street North; pass Military Road and Walter Reed Medical Center. WES is on the left between Jonquil and Kalmia Streets.

Driving from the West and Virginia via the Beltway (495):
Take I-495 to the Beltway Exit 31B “Silver Spring, Georgia Avenue South.” From the overpass drive Georgia Avenue south passing two traffic lights (for 0.4 mile) and bear to the right to fork off onto 16th Street. Go through 3 traffic lights (1.1 miles) to the small traffic circle with the gray stone that states “Welcome to Washington.” Continue south on 16th Street (0.5 mile); the third traffic light is Kalmia Road. WES is on the right-hand side, at the corner of 16th Street and Kalmia Road.

From the East and Baltimore via the Beltway (495):
Take I-95 South to I-495 West (to Silver Spring). Travel about two miles and take Route 29 (Colesville Road) South. Go past the Silver Spring Metro and at the traffic circle turn left onto 16th Street. Continue south on 16th Street (0.5 mile); the third traffic light is Kalmia Road. WES is on the right, at the corner of 16th Street and Kalmia Road.
