Takoma Park Havurah

The Takoma Park Havurah is an informal organization of people centered around Takoma Park, nearby areas of DC and Silver Spring, and anyone else who wants to join in.We have monthly gatherings, usually on the first Friday - except when we decide to have it on some other Friday that month. Sometimes we have Friday evening services using Kol Haneshamah or alternative booklets. Sometimes, in place of the service, we just have lots of singing after our Shabbos dinner. We always have candle lighting, kiddush. motzi, vegetarian potluck dinner, and lots of shmoozing and good cheer.

All are welcome to join us. We have an email list for announcements of our monthly meetings. If you would like more information or would like to subscribe to our email list, contact Grace@takomavillage.org or 202/722-8521.

Our next meeting will take place on Friday July 9, 7 PM at a home in Takoma DC a few minutes walk from the metro station. Please bring a potluck dish to share. Vegetarian, dairy, fish, egg are all OK. Contact Grace for address and directions. We plan to do kiddush, motzi, and potluck dinner, followed by an evening of singing. We have lots of space for dancing and can have a fine time if someone will volunteer to lead.

We are VERY child friendly with lots of toys and books and space for children to play. Please bring your children!
If you are interested in sharing in leading the singing or dancing contact Grace. We have a set of Kol Haneshamah for Erev Shabbat which has many of the familiar songs. But we'd be glad to try any songs you can lead and we can, with advance notice, make multiple copies.

Everyone is welcome. We hope to see you for Shabbos.
