Sunday, July 23, 11:30a.m. – Baruch Dayan Emet.  Our long time member and friend Esther Ticktin has died.   The funeral will be on Sunday at 11:30am at Ohr Kodesh Congregation,,  8300 Meadowbrook Ln, Chevy Chase, MD 20815 , off East West Highway not far from our normal place of services and burial will follow at Mt Lebanon cemetery in Adelphi Maryland.  Rabbi Gilah Langner will lead the service.  May Esther’s memory, and her many words and deeds, be a blessing for her family and for all of us.

Monday, July 31, 8:30p.m. – Tisha B’Av service – We will be joining Shirat Hanfesh at their home, North Chevy Chase Christian Church, 8814 Kensington Parkway, Chevy Chase, MD 20815 for the reading of Eichah (Book of Lamentations) and commemoration of Tisha B’av and the days of tragedy and exile in Jewish history.

Saturday, August 26, 9:30-2:30pm – Bat Mitzvah of Zoe Fagnani.  We will be celebrating the the Bat Mitzvah of Zoe Fagnani, daughter of Judybeth Greene (Fabrangen’s artist-in-residence.) 3.  Fabrangen has signed up to serve as a “first friend” for an Eritrean refugee family that the Ethiopian Community Development Center (ECDC) sponsors.  The father was a high school math teacher in Eritrea and Ethiopia, and he and his wife have two small children.  For more information regarding the family and how you can assist, please contact Larry Garber at
