For many years, Fabrangen has published a Yizkor Memorial Booklet to supplement our Yizkor service.
The focus is on honoring those who have passed away in 2024/5785.
May their memories be for a blessing . . .

My friend and former boss was a force of nature. An Orthodox Jew, law professor, and public servant in the Reagan and G.H.W. Bush administrations, he later travelled as far as Iran pursuing interreligious understanding. Devoted to his family, he had an amazing wit and a penetrating mind.

President Jimmy Carter
December 29, 2024
Our 39th president brought an integrity to the presidency that was much needed then and even more so now. His post-presidency work in support of democracy, and in eradicating diseases were incredibly consequential. And sadly, his concerns about Israel’s democracy absent a peace agreement with the Palestinians are proving prescient.

Joshua S. Feldman
March 1, 2025
Beloved son, brother, uncle, colleague, and friend Joshua Feldman passed on March 1, 2025. Josh was so smart, hilarious, kindhearted, thoughtful, generous—a mensch, through and through. We will miss his humor, generosity, and wisdom every day.

Ray was married to my oldest cousin, Louise. He was a public opinion and medical research expert who had studied, among other things, public opinion in Laos in the 1950s. A long-time professor at NY Medical College, he had an incredible joie de vivre well into his 97th year.

Get Set teacher, editor, librarian at Children’s Hospital Philadelphia, hospital chaplain. Tireless political/Jewish activist. Mother, grandmother, loving and supportive wife for 59 years to Harold (“Doc”) Gorvine, and adored teacher (41 yrs) at Akiba Hebrew Academy. Our relationship grew at annual Havurah Institute; the most loving and supportive friend I could wish for.

To me and my suburbanite sisters, Uncle Al was the epitome of New York City life. Picking up the Sunday New York Times on Saturday night. Egg creams. Great bagels in walking distance. I will remember him for his loves: his wife (and children and grandchildren), teaching, and liberal politics.

Offir Kehat
April 17, 2025
My brother-in-law Offir Kehat passed away this past spring, just short of his fiftieth birthday. Offir was a role model to me, an urban planner and an organic farmer, a traveler and a builder, a great cook and a lover of music, a father, a husband, a brother, a son, a veteran of three wars and a lover of peace.

Jane was our beloved aunt. She encountered the world and everyone in it, from 1927 to 2025, with enormous curiosity and had a deep and lasting love for nature, music, Polish culture and family. Her memory is a blessing forever.

Suzanne Nealon
February 26, 2025
My sister-in-law Suzanne passed away from Alzheimer’s at home surrounded by the love of friends and family. A gifted teacher, she had a huge impact on many little lives. Her creativity ranged from weaving to Morris dancing. We miss her gentleness, sweetness, and dry humor.

Mom was devoted to us, knew all our friends, cherished our children, was loved and admired by many. She had a voracious mind and independent, forceful character. Her interest in others was deep and magnetic, and she was generous. A South Dakotan, she loved big, open spaces. Much missed.

Sheryl Segal
July 3, 2025
A former member, Sheryl was a talented textile artist who contributed to various Fabrangen projects, especially the Memorial Quilt. She had a particular fondness for Portuguese water dogs, and she was known for her strength, intellect, and sense of humor. She was also incredibly proud of her son, Steven.
Arthur “Ted” Rowse

My progressive author and journalist friend and neighbor was always active. He sponsored an annual National Press Award for quality reporting. During Covid his centennial NYT op-ed explained why we would survive. He continued shoveling snow from his sidewalk into his 90’s and finally took eternal rest a bit shy of 105.
