For many years, Fabrangen has published a Yizkor Memorial Booklet to supplement our Yizkor service.
We will have both a print booklet and an online Yizkor Memorial web page this year.
The focus is on honoring those who have passed away in the past year only.
“The first time I attended Fabrangen was for Yom Kippur services in 1999. When it came time for Yizkor, I was dreading it. My father had died suddenly almost exactly 10 years earlier, and I was already emotional, feeling his loss deeply, when it came time to remember dear ones by selecting a rock and placing it in another location. Following others to the baskets filled with small rocks, I somehow began to feel I wasn’t alone as I carefully selected one and completed the ritual. It turned out to be one of the most personally moving and meaningful service experiences I had ever had. Walking home from 13th and New York to Cleveland Park, I realized I had discovered a special community that I wanted to be part of in the days and years to come.” – Susan B.
